This is a quote I came across in my film class today, in which the author talks about how film has to distinguish itself from literature in order to reach its full potential. It, like the Edward R. Murrow quote I use in my website’s banner, has helped me understand that cinema went through a similar stage in its early development that video games are now. Just as film had to become separate from literature, so to do games have to become separate from movies. It’s helped me realize that the struggle of games is not an entirely new one.
